S.O.S. – Silent Witness

Silver liquid drops of rain ferociously dance across the ground, like an army preparing for battle, a hot flash of lightning flickers, briefly illuminating the black walls. The darkness of a thousand clouds strokes the sky. Got me tempted by pure black, black.

“Dark room, no room to breathe
Inhale your gaze on me
Eyes blurred, captured, naive
Tender fingers all over me”

23-year-old Anglo-Maltese singer, songwriter & producer Sophie Debattista aka S.O.S is currently tearing up the UK music scene with her killer dubstep pop track ‘Silent Witness’.

The songwriting is way beyond her 23 years and the production is high energy with a soaring bassline and powerful vocals.

Originally born in Malta, but moved to London where she achieved a BA in Songwriting at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP).

The usual comparisons will be made (Ellie Goulding, Lorde, NAO). Personally, I would like to see Sophie collaborate with some of the Ram & Hospital Records acts, (Sigma, London Electricity, Netsky, Cameo & Crooked, Fred V & Grafix) it definitely worked for Becky Hill & Birdie and think it would be a musical match in bassline heaven.

Like Kelly Lee Owens before her, Sophie is at the forefront of the female producer revolution that is happening right now.

The debut EP ‘Edges of The Mind’ is due for release in late 2017.

He has always been involved in music in one way or another, designing CD sleeves, posters & flyers before DJing and now fronting a band.

Discovering new bands has always been his passion. His reviews are written in the form of visual poetry, creating a picture and capturing a moment.
