Galine - Gravity

Gravity, a new release from Belgian-Dutch band, Galine is the love child of neo-soul, meeting centuries-old canon vocal stylings. It is the voice of singer, Galine Diana Kuyvenhoven and her talented companions at the helm of this diverse group that breaks some musical barriers, and connects some others.

Gravity and its pulsating, underlying rhythm, moves you through a sea of mesmerizing melody and counterpoint. You’re constantly treated to new vocal lines revealed throughout the track, building its collection of melodies and harmonies until its informal ending. It’s not only a vocal triumph though, it’s an instrumental one as well. Throughout the track, the astute listener will discover even more gems. Vintage analog synth sounds mixed with modern electronica appear in all the right places at all the right times. Piano, organ and various percussion sounds make cameos as well. Introduction of new sounds is tasteful, patient and expertly presented with plenty of refreshing negative space accounted for. Gravity is devoid of just that, it’s a lofty piece where you can lose yourself in its atmospheric conditions; it’s mood-altering, thought-provoking and performed by real musicians.

Gravity can be felt by visiting Belgian label, Mayway Record’s website or social media.
