UK rock band, Sweet Crisis, have headed back to their roots with their latest release and third single; ‘Black Magic’. As “a cheeky nod to Hendrix”, the song is like something plucked straight out of the golden age of rock.
A bit of Led Zeppelin, a bit of Rolling Stones and a whole lot of blues combine to make a classic rock and roll track that reminds us that modern bands are just as capable of writing an anthem. With its powerful riffs, soulful vocals and groovy keys, ‘Black Magic’ is not just a tribute to the greats; it’s up there with them.

If you’re not stuck with the chorus on repeat in your head, then you’ll be singing it out loud…along with some potential air guitar. And what is a rock song without an epic guitar solo? ‘Black Magic’ makes sure we’re not missing anything with one that ties the entire tune together. Released along with a music video, these visuals are a perfect emulation of the psychedelic 70s; using distorted colours and trippy angles that demonstrate the iconic retro influence.
If you’re a lover of rock and roll, then this is certainly a track for you. Have a listen to ‘Black Magic’ now, then head to Sweet Crisis’ socials to give them a follow and check out all their releases.

Digging the song!
Nice Band and Nice review. I wish they come to Boston.
Looks like guitars (and guitar solos) still exist in contemporary music. Great song!
