Some songs are just too perfect for a movie soundtrack and that’s certainly the case for Silent Feature’s ‘On Your Hands’. Due to appear on their upcoming EP ‘Be It All You Got’, this Australian ensemble have composed something that’s just begging for dramatic visuals.
Chugging guitar, filthy vocals and industrial percussion combine to create a punchy, progressive track, that evokes anger without even shouting. Lightening it up with contrasting funky keys that infiltrate the second verse, ‘On Your Hands’ allows your mind to wonder into some western tavern and admire a slow-motion, aggressive bar fight. Describing it themselves as, “about as pleasant as a punch in the throat”, perhaps this was the exact image they had in mind when writing.
Silent Feature have perfected crispy low fi; knowing exactly when to push and pull back layers; even leaving room for speech and compelling action to take place… it’s almost as if it was written for a hit cult film…
Sounding as though aliens have abducted Tom Waits and forced him to front The White Stripes (if only), ‘On Your Hands’ is stoner rock cracked open to reveal new-wave blues; oozing that ‘Cruising an American Highway on a Motorbike’ kind of cool.

Well.. I searched silent feature on Spotify. The songs I’ve listened to really deserve multiple listenings and tracks like “Genius” have a completely different skin than this extraordinary acid adventure, they show a very inspired pop side! Great tunes.
