Iron Will is a recently formed Alt-Rock project from Central Florida. They list Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine amongst their influences. Much like their song title, Iron Will’s latest offering is neither harmful nor offensive. In the ethos of genre forefathers, namely Live and Bush, Innocuous is a track that draws you in with mid-tempo beats and plenty of hooks to guide the listener through.
Solid guitar riffs and soaring vocals produce an anthem-like quality. The lead singer and guitarist William Walsh’s deep passion for music is demonstrative. The quality of track production reflects this passion, as does the tight rhythm section. Positivity flows through the track's lyrics, making it perfect for a relaxed Sunday morning.
While sharing lyrically positive messages may not be en vogue, the song is reminiscent of post-grunge at its height and definitely has merit. For anyone who has missed 90s alt-rock- this may be the band that fills a Creed-shaped hole.
