2020 sees the release of Sam Gifford’s debut EP “Man Made”. “Man Made” examines the dangers of standing still in our own personal race against time. And, how only love, courage and trust can hurdle the barriers which prevent us from making the most of every moment, reminding us that “fate is Man Made”.
Sam’s debut EP is carefully crafted with the placement of each lyric and chord measured to impact the listener both sonically and through the words being sung. “Something Else” is the first single to be released from the upcoming EP and can be found using the following link.
“Something Else” is the song that inspired the EP. It was about 2 years ago that I wrote the lyric ‘I’ve been waiting on a moment but fate is Man Made’. A lyric which summarises the running theme across all five songs.
This song can be seen as a reflection of my own life and my own insecurities, thinking back to a time that I let fear prevent me from singing in public. Aligned to that story, this song is about the risks worth taking, and how perhaps a risk for who and what you love may not be a risk at all. This song talks about the changes we are capable of making and the moments we are capable of seizing.
Time waits for no man and so we must choose how we allocate the time we have. Do we live a life where our hopes always remain hopes or do we choose “Something Else”?’

Tour dates in support of Sam’s upcoming EP will be rescheduled later in 2020 following the concerns and safety precautions taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.
