Following on from an extremely successful 2019, which peaked when they played to a packed-out Deaf Institute in Manchester in addition to a number fantastic support slots at Manchester Academy, Puppet Theory release their second single of 2020: “Someone For You”.
“Someone For You” continues the band’s journey from guitar-led indie rock to a more, electronic indie sound. 80’s synth sounds, combined with driving guitars and pulsating bass, lay the foundations for a track, which encapsulates the listener from start to finish. “Someone For You” showcases typical crystal clear vocals, accompanying lyrics conveying a simple but passionate message throughout the track. The repeating lines in the chorus emit pure positivity – something not always associated with a song about a breakup.
Frontman Chris, comments: “Someone For You presents a simple idea – there is someone for everyone. We wanted to create a positive, playful and fun track. We wanted to challenge ourselves to write something which sounds simple and poppy on the surface but has layers of much more technical skill that first perceived. It’s not often a song about a breakup give out a positive message. We wanted to challenge that.”
