Postcards – Fossilized – Indie Music Contest April 2020

The ocean as a symbol of emotional abyss - a motif that consistently runs through the work of Lebanese Dream Pop band Postcards. Their single Fossilized leaves seafarers fearful and whole cities drowning in waves: in contrast to the uncontrollable power of nature, man appears small and insignificant. We're left bare and incapable of having any impact, helpless before all fate, knowing we will lose every fight. Such feeling is further strengthened by the band’s sound; shoegazing guitars and synthesisers tower up over lofty vocals, unsurpassable in their urgency, Fossilized gives a small taste of Postcards' sophomore album, “The Good Soldier” is to due for early 2020; it will, without a doubt, establish Postcards as one of today’s most imaginative Dream Pop formations.
