XNSH – lessons (feat. MadLight, Yvng Manas & Xanny Phantom) – Indie Music Contest April 2020

The song "lessons" is a collaborative alternative/pop rap song from 4 Indian-American teen artists: XNSH (Ansh Parikh, production/mixing), MadLight (Gokul Madathil, chorus vocals), Yvng Manas (Manas Gandepalli, verse 1 vocals), and Xanny Phantom (Abel Thomas, verse 2 vocals). We are all based out of Jacksonville, Florida. "lessons" is a collective story of past relationships that everyone's had. It represents growth after leaving a relationship and the importance of learning from past mistakes. As teen musicians, we thought that making a reflective, yet extravagant song about our pasts would be inspiring and relatable to the youth, but catchy, too. Our song was made in under 24 hours while distanced away due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, and each artist recorded their part entirely by themselves. We first released our track on SoundCloud initially, but after many positive reviews, we released the track across major platforms on the 17th of April. We've worked hard to promote the release of our track, as well - contacting various blogs, curators, and critics to review our track.
