Fjord Mustang – VHS

Back when VHS tapes were common, it was easy to 'forget' to rewind the rental tapes. Sometimes truly accidental, sometimes purposefully. This is used as a metaphor for avoidance in facing your past to learn who you truly are, and going through self growth. This song is also about the intrigue of being a spectator to others’ lives in the city, and watching them through the window. You get only a glimpse into who they are, a snapshot of their life. You can romanticise their perfect life without ever knowing the truth, just like romanticising your own past on home video, when maybe back then things weren’t as rosy as you now imagine.
